Did you know that every vegetable begins as a seed?
Seeds contain the essential components that enable growth, which is why sprouts — the earliest stage of the plant — naturally contain concentrated levels of certain nutrients compared to the mature vegetable.

The type and quality of a seed influence the composition of the sprout.
We use only certified organic seeds of the highest quality to help ensure consistent composition and purity in every batch.
FROM SPROUT TO POWDER
Sprouts may be small, but they are remarkably rich in natural plant compounds.
For instance, broccoli sprouts contain precursors that can form sulforaphane — a compound that has been the subject of extensive scientific research.
By harvesting at this early stage and gently processing the sprouts into powder, we are able to preserve a broad range of naturally occurring plant compounds — including those related to the sulforaphane pathway — without the need for synthetic additives.
OUR UNIQUE PRODUCTION METHOD
At Pure Food Norway (PFN), we have developed an advanced freeze-drying process designed to retain the sprout’s natural composition as much as possible.
This technique allows us to create broccoli sprout powder with stable quality and shelf life.
The same method can also be applied to other microgreens.
SUSTAINABLE INDOOR PRODUCTION
Our sprouts and microgreens are cultivated indoors under carefully monitored conditions and harvested after just a few days.
This controlled environment enables efficient, year-round production without the need for extensive farmland and minimizes exposure to environmental contaminants.
The result is consistent quality and a smaller environmental footprint.
PARTNERSHIP IN INNOVATION
We collaborate with Norske Spirer AS, Norway’s largest and oldest sprout producer.
Together, we have developed a range of organic sprout blends available in stores and are expanding into freeze-dried sprout and microgreen production through a new, modern facility in Norway.
ENHANCING FOODS AND DRINKS
Our sprout powder can be added to various foods and beverages — for example, ready meals or freeze-dried dishes — to increase their content of naturally occurring plant compounds.
Simply mix with water and heat as desired.
WHAT DOES RESEARCH SAY ABOUT SULFORAPHANE?
Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring compound that forms when broccoli sprouts or other cruciferous vegetables are cut, crushed, or chewed.
Scientists have studied sulforaphane in a variety of research settings — including cellular, animal, and human studies — to better understand its role in natural plant defense systems and how it interacts with biological processes in the body.
While research continues to explore these mechanisms, no specific health effects can be claimed for foods or supplements containing sulforaphane.

Our pure, freeze-dried powders contain no added fillers or synthetic ingredients.
They are available in capsules or powder sachets, making it simple to include sprout-derived ingredients as part of a varied and balanced diet.

WHAT ABOUT MICROGREENS?
Like sprouts, microgreens start from seeds — but they grow slightly longer and develop small leaves.
Typically harvested after 3–12 days, microgreens have their own distinct sensory and compositional profiles.
Thanks to our expertise and technology, we now produce high-quality microgreens using the same sustainable, carefully controlled approach as with sprouts.
